Accessibility
A magazine about wellbeing should be readable by everyone. This page describes what is built into creationsmag.com, what we know still falls short, and how to tell us when something is in your way.
Our standard
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our working standard, and we test against it when the site changes. Accessibility here is a practice, not a certificate; when we find a gap, we fix it.
What is built in
- Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, headings in order, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus states on every interactive element.
- Text and background colors chosen for AA contrast, and text that scales cleanly to 200 percent.
- Alternative text on images, and labels on every form control, button, and icon-only link.
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences: animation is subtle by design and stands down entirely when your system asks it to.
- A responsive layout that works at any viewport width and orientation, with no horizontal scrolling.
- No time limits, no autoplaying media, and no content that flashes.
Known limitations
- Print issues offered as PDF downloads reproduce the printed magazine layout and are not fully tagged for screen readers. Every article from recent issues is also published as an accessible web page, which we recommend as the better reading experience.
- Some photographs in older archive articles carried no descriptions from the original site; we add alt text as we touch them.
