Jamesport Farm Brewery, a locally owned and operated brewery that has become a Long Island favorite, will be hosting plenty of fun events throughout the summer. Fans of craft beer, music, and visitors to the North Fork of Long Island would do well to give this great local hotspot a try.
According to owners Melissa and Anthony Caggiano, Jamesport Farm Brewery started out in order to create and provide locally made craft beer. This model utilizes the land of the one-time potato farm in order to grow the ingredients needed to make their unique brews.
Jamesport Farm Brewery has built upon its history as a potato farm by sticking to its rustic roots. Situated on the North Fork of Long Island where potato farms and vineyards are present, the conditions for hop plants are nearly perfect. Jamesport Farm Brewery continues as both a brewery growing its own hops, as well as a wholesale nursery. They also consider themselves the only “farm to pint” brewery on the Island.
As for what one can expect to find at the brewery, there is always something new to explore. Their beer recipes use fine local ingredients, many of which are grown on-site. They also have a detailed, diverse menu that allows patrons to explore options without feeling lost.
In the “Hoppy” section of the menu are several different beers, from pale ales to notable IPAs. Patrons will also notice the sheer variety of their brews. Dark beers, seasonal varieties, what they call “Easy drinking” lighter beers, are all on the menu and can offer something to anyone. Jamesport Farm Brewery also has ciders and cans to go for those wanting to take a piece of the brewery home with them.
For those wanting to visit and stay a while, there is a pet-friendly tasting room available. Served at the brewery are not only beers on tap, but also wines, cocktails, and more.
From July to November, the brewery offers farm tours, teaching patrons how their local ingredients are grown and sourced. There’s a hay wagon tour of the 43-acre farm, and even free beer of your choice offered. Tickets are available online in advance at $40 per person. Jamesport Farm Brewery also boasts a large list of bands who have played there and will continue to do so into the future.
Jamesport Brewery proves the farm to pint method valid in a world of growing local breweries. At Jamesport, they have been keeping their methods and outreach community-oriented, and the great beer born from these methods speak for themselves.
