A WHIM AND A WIND

by Jerry Brown, Santa Fe, NM

Following Your suggestion

To take new direction

I cultivated and listened

To a whim and a wind

And a whim blew in

Through a way the wind opened

This whim and the wind

Was very strong

And by listening to this whim

I heard a sweet song

It wasn’t like a wishy-washy

Whisk of a wind

But more like a whirl-wind

Blowing in a shift

It wasn’t a wind

That was wimpy and weak

It was more like the wonder

Of WOW that I seek

It wasn’t about wondering

Which way do I go

It was more about welcoming

The wonder that I know

It was not about taking a risk on a whim

Or going out on a limb!

The whim was a wind

Whisking in wondering

Wafting around the dreams

That I have been pondering

So on a whim……here’s a new poem you’ve inspired

Because sharing this whim……is how my passion gets fired!

Wherever this poem goes……I’ll trust how the wind blows

I’ll trust how it flows……because the Whim knows!
