The Library Café in Farmingdale Serving up Martinis and Family Fare 🍸

Farmingdale’s Library Café, part of Lessing’s Hospitality Group, a Long Island-owned hospitality group with various popular eateries and bars under their belt, is continuing to serve customers far and wide their delectable fare, as well as a library-full of signature drinks.

Library Cafe’s name stems from an obvious source; it was opened out of a historic former library dating back to 1907. This library, however, has had a complete makeover while still holding on to its roots, and has been functioning in this new bar and restaurant capacity for over 20 years.
The bar front is enticing with a huge variety of drinks towering tall over patrons. In fact, a rolling ladder is necessary to reach the high-sitting liquors, similar to accessing tall bookshelves.
The bar, touted as sophisticated yet casual by Library Café themselves, offers both delicious eats, as well as inventive cocktails and martinis. Many of their drinks are literary-themed, with names taken after notable authors. Among them is the Dante Alighieri: Dante’s Inferno ($9), a jalapeño-infused tequila-based cocktail, and the Mark Twain: Huckleberry Finn ($13), a vodka, champagne, and cranberry martini.
Drinks are not all that is offered by Library Café. Eclectic food options can be found that are great for a night out. These include menus for children and families, which are regular patrons at this Farmingdale establishment, making the Library Café an all-around treat to visit. Lunch, dinner, and a popular brunch menu can all be found on their extensive roster of foods.
Library Café also hosts a variety of events, typically updated on their Facebook. Cocktail parties and even private events like birthdays and bridal showers can be hosted in the Loft at the Library Café, an elegant, private area meant specifically for private gatherings.
